Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of openLN, the custom NFC card marketplace. By using the site, designing a card, publishing to the catalog, or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Who we are

openLN is the product name of this service. In these terms, "we", "us", and "our" refer to the organization that operates it. "You" refers to anyone using the service.

2. The service

openLN lets you design custom NXP NTAG424 NFC cards, with un-uncoded NFC payload, save designs privately, publish designs to a community catalog, and purchase cards. Payments are made in Bitcoin over the Lightning Network. Production and shipping are handled by our fulfillment partner on our behalf.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be able to form a binding contract to use the service. Some features, such as viewing your orders, require an account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account.

4. Designs and content you provide

You keep ownership of the artwork and content you upload. By uploading, you confirm that you hold the rights needed to reproduce that content on a physical card, and you grant us a limited licence to use it only to produce, fulfil, and where you choose to publish, display your design.

You agree not to upload or order content that:

  • infringes the intellectual property, trademark, or privacy rights of others,
  • is unlawful, hateful, deceptive, or promotes harm,
  • impersonates a person, brand, or authority you are not entitled to represent.

We may decline to produce or publish a design that breaches these terms. If we cancel an order for this reason before production, you may not receive a full refund.

5. Publishing and royalties

When you publish a design to the catalog, you set a creator handle, a Lightning address for payouts, and a royalty in sats that is added to each sale. When another buyer purchases your published design, the royalty is paid to your Lightning address as part of order settlement. You are responsible for providing a valid Lightning address and for any taxes due on royalties you earn.

6. Pricing and payment

Prices are shown in satoshis (sats), with any fiat figure provided only as a reference. Because the Bitcoin exchange rate moves, the sats price of a product can change between visits. The amount shown on your invoice at checkout is the amount you pay. Orders are confirmed once the Lightning invoice is paid. Unpaid invoices expire and the order is not placed.

7. Production and shipping

We produce genuine, good quality cards. Production begins after payment is confirmed. Delivery times depend on your destination and the carrier. Tracking is shown on your order page once it is available. Title and risk pass to you on delivery.

8. Refunds

Our refund commitments are set out in full on the Refund Policy page, which forms part of these terms. In summary, we cover refunds where an order fails to ship, and where there is provable damage or a printing defect supported by an unboxing video.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service, including by attempting to disrupt it, bypass security, scrape it at scale, or use it for unlawful purposes. NFC payloads will not be configured to prevent the cards to be used to distribute malware, phishing links, or other harmful content.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided on a reasonable efforts basis. We do not control the Bitcoin or Lightning networks, exchange rates, or third party wallets, and we are not responsible for losses caused by an incorrect Lightning address you provide or by network conditions outside our control. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect is the one published on this page, with the date shown above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Disputes are subject to the courts of Thailand, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you may have where you live.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to openLN via the contact points published on this site.
